MINI COOKING LESSONS (AGES 6-10)
The Mini Cook's Club is a specially designed program for children ages 6-10 years of age.
Research shows that children are more likely to eat foods they recognize, and are especially likely to try foods they have made themselves. When children prepare meals with their classmates, they become familiar with and enjoy eating healthy foods.
Children will learn where their food ingredients come from, how to prepare age-appropriate dishes and in the process, learn about the joy of making food with and for one another.
Our Program Includes:
- Basic concepts about food production
- Fundamentals of kitchen safety, food safety, safe food preparation and storage
- Building respect and awareness of people with specific dietary differences
- Building confidence by creating a recipe from beginning to end
Our Classes Promote:
- Conscious eating decisions
- The development and use of new vocabulary words that describe cooking techniques and various food preparation
- The use of art, storytelling and reading food-related books to spark new recipe ideas
AFTER SCHOOL COOK CLUB
Add us to your after school curriculum. We are able to tailor a full cooking class to fit your after school needs, and we have worked without a kitchen.
All that's needed is an available classroom with a couple of electrical outlets, enough space for a large table that can hold the following appliances: a mini convection oven and a blender and a few tables and chairs for cooking/prep space for the children.
